Student and Young Professional Travel Support

The IEEE SAM 2024 Organizing Committee is delighted to introduce the Student and Young Professional Travel Support program, generously sponsored by the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS), to assist student and young professional authors worldwide. (IEEE defines Young Professionals as those who have graduated with their first professional degree within the last 15 years.) Applicants must be active SPS members at the time of application. If you are not already a member, you can learn more about joining SPS here:

The grants will be allocated through a highly competitive selection process to a limited number of individuals who demonstrate a genuine financial need to attend IEEE SAM 2024. A committee will evaluate applications, giving consideration to the quality of submitted papers. Results of the travel grant selection process will be posted on this website, and applicants will receive notification via email.

Funds from the grants are designated solely for covering travel expenses associated with attending IEEE SAM 2024. If approved, grants will be distributed via reimbursement shortly after the workshop. Awardees will be required to submit copies of their receipts (compiled into one document) for reimbursement processing post-event. Successful applicants will receive detailed instructions upon notification.

The deadline for submitting a travel grant application is May 25, 2024. Please submit your application here via the application form SAM Student Travel Grant – Application Form and include the following documents:

1. A concise letter from your advisor, confirming your academic status (M.S., Ph.D., year of study) and outlining the necessity for travel support. Young professionals may submit a similar letter from their current supervisor.
2. A detailed breakdown of your anticipated expenses for attending the workshop.
3. The paper number(s) for which you are listed as an author or co-author.
4. Your IEEE membership number and confirmation of your SPS membership status.

Awardees will be announced on June 5, 2024.
